Melissa Giaquinta

Melissa Giaquinta is a qualified Clinical Psychologist with a Masters in Clinical Psychology and a membership with the Australian Psychological Society. She has worked in private practice for a number of years and also has experience in community mental health settings. Melissa uses a range of therapy approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (including mindfulness), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing; ensuring that the approach is tailored to the individual. Melissa provides support for adults and adolescents from 14 years+. She treats a wide range of mental health concerns including depression and bipolar, anxiety disorders (e.g. social anxiety, health anxiety, OCD), eating disorders, body image disturbance, low self-esteem, self-harm and suicidal ideation, grief and loss, and adjustment to life transitions and stressors. Melissa strives to provide a comfortable and sincere experience in the consulting room. She values client empowerment, and aims to equip each person with coping skills that can be used to foster an ongoing enriched life.
